we miss uncle nicky

"Hello Uncle Nicky! Are you somewhere near St. Louis? I suppose you are. Bye!"
That was Reagan's fake conversation with my brother the morning after he drove back to St. Louis. His trip here was waaaay too short! (Not to mention that Reagan was not herself with a 103 degree fever for 3 days - yuck!) We tried to see him as much as time would allow. The kids (of course) loved him!

Having fun at the Children's garden, after some yummy Potbelly sandwiches.

We have some very strange children...

Yea, we said "smile." They heard "act like freaks!"

Nick chasing the kiddies - I love their faces!

I love being in charge. I told them to stand on the clover... so they did!

Why on the clover? Who knows. Guess I thought it was funny that they did what I said.

Which one do you think will be the bully?

Nick threw Austin, over and over and over and over... (Molly's face is priceless)
So now the kids are back to being bored. When are you coming back Nick?

seriously

where does she come up with these things?

More Reagan-isms...

Will you get me a yellow bandaid to put on my teeth so I can have yellow teeth?

Bad people have underwear full of tinkle. Good people have a potty full of tinkle.

independence day

We have great friends, and our great friends have great parents. That is why we had a wonderful weekend filled with friends, sand, water, boating, games, food, fireworks, not much sleep, tons of fun...

Lake Michigan was a little chilly - 52 degrees. So we mainly played in the sand. Only Mitch and I were actually brave enough to swim in it. Reagan enjoyed the sand...
I love Lake Michigan! So pretty - even overcast!

The girls liked digging, but both hated having sand on their hands.

Kennedy didn't really mind the cold water too much.

Kennedy started to really like the sand by the end! She even tried to eat it!

Katie Roll being cute playing ring around the rosey with the kids.

Kennedy still being cute in the sand.

Part of the gang playing cards, Austin and Kara showed up later.

Lindsey and Troy being cute on the boat.

Reagan riding with Daddy on the boat. She really liked it for the first 45 minutes or so and kept asking for us to go faster.

Kennedy didn't really like her life vest.

The kids, Kennedy, Hayden(?), Reagan, Mason, Ady, Skyler. (Missing Blake and Hannah)

The kids are so funny together!

Adam's sister are so great with the kids - they absolutely adore them!

Kennedy enjoying a freeze pop, ahhh the life!
It was a wonderful weekend. The kids did as well as could be expected. Reagan LOVED playing with the other kids! Lori, of course, spoiled us with great food. We love you Rolls!
Happy 4th everyone!

the childrens garden

We made a stop at the childrens garden on campus with the girls the other day. It was cool out and wonderful. The girls played and climbed and ran around and fell down and ran around some more. The whole place is just very scenic, so I took lots of pictures...

Of all the signs in the garden, Reagan decided to stop and read this one: "Pack Choy Joy Choy."

balloonfest

It was balloonfest weekend again, and we decided to take the girls this year and see what it was like. We happened to catch a frisbee dog show, which they both really enjoyed. Here is Kennedy on the edge of her seat watching the "goggies."

Reagan made a hot air balloon and had one painted on her face too.

One of the amazing dogs I managed to catch on film!

Another cool stunt!
We took home tons of balloons, and Kennedy tried to hold them all.

Kennedy was exhausted, so she quickly fell asleep (but never let go of her balloon).

When I went out for a run saturday morning, this is what I found flying over our subdivision.

It was super cool! There were TONS of balloons!
We took the girls down to the lake friday night to watch the balloons over the lake. That was really cool - but I forgot my camera. The girls walked in the water again, and we managed to make it home unscathed.

ahhhh... summer

We LOVE to go to Aunt Susie and Uncle Jack's house! The girls are so excited whenever I tell them we get to go there. It is a child's dream! Big fenced-in yard, playhouse, pool, bubbles, balls, tractor, gator, dirt to dig in, ice cream, roller coaster, swing, fun people - basically perfect! We plan on spending many, many more days there this summer! During one of our last play dates, Kennedy and Austin really hit it off. Austin would take Kennedy to the stairs of the playhouse, lift her up, race her to the window at the other end and play peek-a-boo, then hold her hands while she came down the slide. Then repeat 25 times! They both loved it!

On the days that we can't make it to Susie and Jack's house, we have to make do in our backyard. Luckily a few yard sale buys and some Target $1 toys make it pretty fun. The girls are obsessed with bubbles! The beach ball is a blast, and they really like the $1 wagon to pull things or people in. Reagan and Kennedy play so well together - I am so glad!

Lastly, a few cute Reagan-isms from the week:
"Daddy are you ready to go to work?" He said "yes." Her reply, "No daddy, you have to put your shoes on before you can go to work!"
While eating parmesan chicken one night, "Did Kennedy pluck the chicken?" To which Kennedy laughed hysterically, so Reagan kept repeating it all through dinner.
Before eating hawaiian haystacks, Reagan saw the chow mein noodles on the table and exclaimed, "I can't wait to eat La Choy!" (the brand name on the noodles.)
