stats

Reagan had her two year check-up and Kennedy had her four month check-up. Here is how they measured up:

Reagan
35 inches - 80th percentile
26.1 lbs - 40th percentile

Kennedy
26 inches - 95th percentile
14 lbs 3.5 oz - 60th percentile

I guess that explains why Kennedy is way too long for 6 month clothes. She has to wear 9 month sleepers or she can't straighten her legs.

Another milestone, Reagan has started using her vest for breathing treatments. That means I no longer have to manually beat her lungs - the vest does it for us. She was a little scared at first, but as of yesterday she can handle it for both of her breathing treatments every day. She is such a good sport! Here is a picture of what she has to do.

two years!

Reagan turned 2 on friday! Rick had a mandatory meeting, so I tried to capture the day in pictures for him. I forgot to take my camera to lunch with us, though, so I took pictures with my phone and I don't know how to get them onto the computer now. Those will have to come later. Here is how we spent the day...

Reagan standing by her sign, which she helped to color.

Reagan playing with her new flowers, and getting a little silly.
We played peek-a-boo with the flowers.
Then Kennedy woke up, so we played with her for a while.
Reagan lounged on her new bean bag while watching her new favorite show, Sid the Science Kid.

Next we tried out her new tunnel.
Then we went to lunch at Red Robin, where they sang to her and brought her an ice cream sundae and balloon. Then Reagan took her nap. After she woke up, we had her easel waiting for her (from Grandpa and Grandma).
This is still her absolute favorite present, although she will take breaks now to play with her other presents.
We took her to the Rainforest Cafe for her birthday dinner. She loved watching the animals, and had to walk around the restaurant numerous times looking at all of them!
She didn't really want to eat her dinner, the restaurant was too exciting. Not to mention the gift shop which she loved even more!
We gave in and let her pick out two figurines as souveniers. Names: Dante and Kermit.
Lastly, we let her open her presents from Great Granny while we hooked up the webcam so she could talk to Grandpa (who is still in the hospital.)
It was bittersweet putting her to bed that night. I didn't want the day to end. I can't believe my baby is two years old!
Happy Birthday Reagan!

my boys

We finally made it to the lake before summer was over. Reagan loved visiting her boys, and hanging out with all of the Roll family: Katie, Adam, Maggie, Marie, Brother Roll, Sister Roll, and Blucey.

Hamming it up the first night we were there. Kennedy and her fake Aunt Katie at the beach.
Reagan and Mommy were the only ones who braved the water.
Reagan thought the sand was interesting.
We went to the barn party, where Reagan insisted on riding the horse.
I walked beside her, but she was holding on for dear life.
She didn't want to get off.
The hay ride, which we didn't actually go on. I went to grab Reagan's blanket and they left without us!
We had such a great time! The Rolls are such fun!

kennedy's day

Tomorrow is the big day for Reagan - TWO YEARS! Since all of the attention will be on Reagan for the next two days, today will be Kennedy's day. Here is a little update on my littlest cutie. Kennedy figured out how to roll on to her tummy about a week ago, and has since forgotten how to roll off her tummy. This is a little upsetting for her whenever she gets bored of her toys, or pushes them out of reach. She is growing like a weed! She can still wear some 6 month clothes, but mostly 9 month clothes now. This is mainly because she is so long - not because of her weight, although she has some great thighs! Kennedy loves to smile at strangers in public all the time. She has permanently spiky hair. She LOVES to watch Reagan play. She kicks rapidly in her bath tub, and makes a bigger mess with the water than Reagan does! Kennedy sleeps pretty well, anywhere from 6 - 10 hour stretches. She always wants to be held during dinner time, and really enjoys watching us eat. She always wants to be holding on to something. Kennedy is a great cuddler! I love my baby!

matching presents

I finally got around to taking pictures of my girls in the beautiful dresses from Ossi and Erella. I can't decide which one to send them as a thank you. Which picture do you like best?

pulmonary function test

Reagan had her first Infant Pulmonary Function Test yesterday. I was a bit scared about the whole thing, but it went really smoothly. Reagan had to be awake by 7:00 am, couldn't eat after 9:00 am, and couldn't nap before the procedure at 1:00 pm. They gave her some sleepy medicine to help knock her out, and then they attached her to the equipment. The purpose of the test is to measure the size of her lungs and how easily air moves through them. She was done by 3:00, and then we had to wake her up to make sure she could swallow. She threw up a little, and then fell sound asleep in the car on the way home. She napped till about 5:30, and then was very loopy. We couldn't really let her walk, because she was very unstable. Luckily this morning the medicine has worn off completely. Now we are just waiting for an update from the doctor to see what the test shows.
